Smith-sick
I have been adjusting in London exceptionally well (by my standards, at least) considering homesickness hits me very easily. For the past couple of days I’ve been feeling pretty Smithsick. There are so many things I love about this school, but Smith is a VERY unique place and it will always have a special place in my heart. Sounds cheesy, but it’s true!
THINGS I MISS.
- Smith’s career development office. ENOUGH SAID.
- The US system of learning > British system of learning in every way
- Professor/student interaction
- MY AMAZING FRIENDS
- 4 minute walk to classes as oppose to a 30 minute walk to classes
- H-DUB. I miss everything about you.
- Northampton
- decent food. I’m only half-kidding.
- classes that are taught on something that is not powerpoint
- gorgeous campus
- QUIET study places. people here don’t know when to STFU. also - finding a desk or computer to work on is becoming increasingly hard.
- QUIET classes. whispering to your friend in the middle of lecture? NOT OKAY WITH ME.
- not having to compete for resources with graduate students!
- more legitimate stress and deadlines.
- SMITHIES. I’ve noticed women in my classes tend to participate less than the men, which is VERY weird to see. Smithies as a whole are extremely outspoken, but in my opinion they make the world go ‘round ;]
- EVERYTHING. I love you, Smith.
