arrival!

I arrived in London 2 days ago and have finally found a place with free Wi-Fi!

So far things are going fabulously. I have fallen in love with the city (well, whatever I’ve seen so far) London is beautiful and the small buildings make this large city look very quaint. It will take a LONG time to get adjusted to the curvy confusing roads, different neighborhoods, and strange road signs but I’m excited for the experiend.

Last night a group of us hit up a great (but very, very crowded) pub. A pint of Guinness was £3 and a mixed drink was £3.50. Definitely cheaper than NYC, especially since we aren’t expected to tip. I’m definitely trying to budget and limit eating out as much as possible, but draaaanks are just too much fun to give up C:

Contrary to popular belief, British food isn’t as disgusting everyone makes it out to be, which is a nice surprise. I’ve also begun to understand British humor - it’s actually pretty hilarious. The speakers at our orientation were really engaging, funny, and helpful, which probably improved my view of the country a little. ha.

Tomorrow morning we move into our dorms  - so excited! I haven’t really gotten homesick yet. Maybe it’s because there are 10 Smithies in this program, which is comforting, but also makes it difficult to socialize with others because of how cliquey they tend to be :P

that’s all for now. my mind is swimming with too much information to think correctly at the moment. more updates will come asap!
